Elevated
lead levels found in California community (Amador
Ledger Dispatch, December 29) Commentary: The
public is not well-served with news reporting such as in this article. First
the reporter provides a fallacious statistic that the high lead was found
in only 1% of the town's 350 homes, without mentioning that the elevated
lead was found in four of the 5 to 10 samples
collected and the remaining 300+ homes were not sampled. Then the readers are advised that "sewers" will have
to be replaced if the corrosion-control program
doesn't work. Oh
my!
